About the Doctor

Dr. Patricia Escudero Rotman is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (foreign license) with an American Ph.D. and a License in Clinical Social Work (New York and Florida). She has been in clinical practice for more than twenty five years. She graduated in 1983 from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She completed her residency in clinical psychology in 1986 in one of the most reputable mental health organizations in that country. This was followed by an intensive training in France and in the United States. She began her private practice in 1983 and had the privilege of supervising her work with well known psychologists. Dr. Escudero Rotman moved to the United States in 1991 and obtained her Ph.D. as well as a License in Clinical Social Work.

Dr. Escudero Rotman worked for the Addiction Treatment Program of Mount Sinai Hospital doing individual and group therapy for substance abusers, helping their family members and giving lectures to the community. She also founded a service specialized in Couples and Family therapy where she offered supervision to her staff as well as acted as a clinician. Her experience also includes having been the coordinator of a Partial Hospitalization Program, working in an inpatient psychiatric unit as well as in an emergency room providing crisis intervention.

Dr. Escudero Rotman is currently specialized in the treatment of Anxiety Disorders. She is the former Director of several Anxiety Disorder Programs both overseas and in New York. She is also trained in Schema Therapy, a highly effective treatment for patients with personality disorders.

Dr. Escudero Rotman’s international orientation and command of several foreign languages make her a good professional choice for foreign born patients. Sessions may be conducted in English, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.

She has lectured extensively in prestigious psychological institutes and universities such as New York, Fordham, Columbia universities as well as the Training Institute for Mental Health, Pederson Krag, and the Association of Puerto Rican Social Workers (keynote speaker).

Dr. Escudero Rotman has often been featured as an expert in human psychology in many television and radio talk shows (e.g. Cristina Show) as well as in the news (e.g. Telemundo).
